Dear City of Zion resident,
Beginning Sept. 5, 2023, we are moving to curbside-only collection with automated trucks and every-other-week recycling. These trucks use automatic lifting arms to empty carts, making collection more efficient, cleaner, and safer for your community and our drivers.
With automated curbside collection, your carts and all material must be placed at the curb on your collection day. All material must fit inside the cart with the lid firmly closed -no extra bags or material outside the cart will be collected. Resident-owned containerscannot be serviced.
WM is excited to provide the residents of Zion with automated curbside collection and looks forward to helping your community stay safe, clean and green.
Please download and keep this guide handy for reference throughout the year.
Trash Collection
Your collection day will not change.
Trash will continue to be picked up weekly (Monday-Thursday).
Please have your carts at the curb by 6 a.m. the day of your collection or the night before your collection day.
Proper Cart Placement for Automated Collection
Please place your carts at least 3 feet apart and 3 feet away from any obstacles (trees, cars, mailboxes, etc.) to allow the automatic arm to lift and empty the carts. Place the wheels of the cart toward the house.
Every-Other-Week Recycling Collection
Beginning Sept. 5, 2023, recycling will be collected every other week. Please see the Collection Calender for your Green Recycling Week.
Remember to place your recyclables directly into the bin – don’t bag your recyclables. Flatten all cardboard boxes and make sure any containers are free from food or liquid. See the adjacent panel for acceptable recycling items and tips to Recycle Right.
