The Zion Board of Fire and Police Commissioners conducts competitive testing for entry-level sworn, full-time
Police positions and establishes an appointment eligibility list every two years in accordance with the “Board of
Fire and Police Commissioners”, Chapter 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/10-2.1-1 et. seq.
Applicants shall be under 35 years of age, at the time of application, and at such time as the final eligibility list
is posted, unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in Section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police
Commissioner’s Act. The minimum age at the time of application shall be at least 21 years old. Applicants must
have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate and posses a valid driver’s license.
